Sé que muchos de nosotros sufrimos cuando se trata de rizar las pestañas, y peor aún, encontrar una máscara que sostenga el rizado por horas. Hace unos días fui a un lugar donde tienen el tratamiento perfecto para quienes tenemos pestañas pequeñas apuntando hacia abajo.
I know that many of us suffer when it comes to lash curling, and even worse, finding a mascara that hols the curl for hours. A few days ago I went to a place where they have the perfect treatment for those of us who have tiny lashes facing downwards.

Las extensiones de pestañas han sido una tendencia en el mundo de belleza pero he escuchado reseñas mixtas sobre el resultado, en otras palabras, las pestañas naturales de algunas personas se caen con el tiempo junto con las extensiones. Obviamente esto es diferente para cada persona pero no quise arriesgarme y mejor opté por la alternativa (y mejor opción, a mi parecer): Yumi Lashes.
Beauty Room is not only the prettiest monochromatic salon where I live but it also offers great services for mani, pedi, hair, and most importantly, lashes. Lash extensions have been a huge trend in the beauty community but I have heard mixed reviews of the outcome, in other words, some people's lashes fall off with the extensions as the time passes. This is obviously different for everyone but I didn't want to risk it so I went for the alternative (and best option, in my opinion): Yumi Lashes.
Lo que Yumi Lashes hace es rizar las pestañas por un largo tiempo (8 a 12 semanas, dependiendo de cómo las cuides) y alargarlas notablemente con un tinte negro. El proceso toma alrededor de 1 hora y 20 minutos, dejando reposar las pestañas entre cada paso. Estas fotos de arriba son el antes y después del mismo día. En la foto de la derecha mis pestañas se ven mucho más definidas y alargadas, con una curva que me durará por un largo tiempo (¡adiós rizadores!).
What Yumi Lashes does is curl your lashes for a long time (8 to 12 weeks, depending on how careful you are with them) and lengthen them noticeably with a black tint. The process takes about an hour and 20 minutes, letting your lashes rest between each step. These photos above are the before and after shots in the same day. In the photo on the right you can see my lashes much more defined and longer, with a curve that will last for a long time (bye curlers!).
Por más que quiera contarles del proceso, fue difícil tomar fotos porque mis ojos estuvieron cerrados la mayoría del tiempo. En cada paso preguntaba qué era lo que sucedía y entendí por qué toma tanto tiempo (aunque se va súper rápido, la verdad). Primero que nada, las pestañas se unen a algo que parece pasta en tu párpado, después cada pestaña es acomodada de manera individual para que se sostenga ahí durante todo el proceso. En los siguientes pasos se van agregando más productos que sirven para rizar, alargar y dar más color. Por último, los productos son removidos cuidadosamente para no maltratar las pestañas y que queden en su lugar mientras se fija todo por 12 horas. Unas pasadas de keratina son agregadas al final para que tus pestañas queden fuertes.
It was a little hard to take photos of the progress because my eyes were shut most of the time. In every step I kept asking what was going on and I realized why it took so long (although it went incredibly fast, to be honest). First of all, your lashes are swiped upwards to some sort of paste on your lids, then each lash is adjusted to fit there the whole process. For the next steps more products are added, these are for curling, lengthening, and color. Lastly, products are removes carefully to not mess up the lashes and let them stay in place while everything sets on the next 12 hours. A few strokes of keratin are added in the end to add strength to your lashes.
A diferencia de los tratamientos comunes de rizado de pestañas, Yumi Lashes aporta tinte y longitud. Esta técnica requiere de entrenamiento y conocimiento previo, por lo que debes asistir a un lugar donde esto sea parte de sus servicios. Beauty Room es el único salón de belleza donde vivo que proporciona este servicio, el cual fue creado en Francia. Si no quieres arriesgarte a las extensiones de pestañas o crees que no se ven naturales, este es un tratamiento que puede acomodarse a tus necesidades.
