The way that I clean my makeup brushes has changed throughout the years. One thing is for sure, I've been trying to do it more often since my Beauty Goals at the beginning of the year. Today I'm sharing with you a little video of how I wash them and some techniques I've learned in the process.

Since most of my brushes are made from real hair, I tend to use my normal shampoo to wash them. However, I prefer baby shampoo because they contain less chemicals that could damage my brushes in the long term. I pour a small amount into a container and dip the brush in it. To do all the cleaning job, I use my Brushegg and gently swirl the hairs in circular motions. The textures on its surface make it easy to remove makeup residue without having to wet the brushes completely. I like to do this in the sink to have clean water next to me.

After they have been washed and rinsed, I let them rest in a clean towel. I like to fold an edge to let the brushes have a little angle so that any remaining water doesn't go into the glued part.
