We often go with the idea that expensive beauty products perform better than what the drugstore offers. It is the case sometimes, but I have found some drugstore gems that work amazingly on me and I continue to repurchase over and over again throughout the years.
A veces nos vamos con la idea de que los productos de belleza caros funcionan mejor que lo que ofrece el supermercado. Es el caso algunas veces, pero he encontrado unas joyas de farmacia que funcionan increíblemente en mí y continúo comprándolas una y otra vez con el paso de los años.
Drugstore concealer that covers everything
I can’t remember the first time I purchased the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer or how many of these I’ve gone through. What I do know is that I always go back to it when I try others concealers because it seems like the best one of my skin. I have always used the shade Light but recently got Sand because I, for once, had a little tan this Summer and needed to deepen my shade a bit. It’s light formula works on hiding dark circles, doesn’t crease, covers pimples, and can be used to highlight the center of my face without looking cakey.
No puedo recordar la primera vez que compré el Instant Age Rewind Concealer de Maybelline ni cuántos de estos me he terminado. Lo que sí sé es que siempre regreso a él cuando pruebo otros correctores porque parece ser lo mejor para mi piel. Siempre he usado el tono Light pero hace poco compré el tono Sand porque, por primera vez, tuve un bronceado este verano y necesitaba obscurecer mi tono un poco. Su fórmula ligera funciona escondiendo ojeras, no se corre, cubre espinillas y puede ser usado para iluminar el centro de mi cara sin verse pastoso.
The drugstore powder I use every day
By every day I mean whenever I do my makeup, of course. Even if it’s just the T Zone I have to apply a bit of powder to seal whatever’s underneath. The L’Oréal True Match Powder is my favorite one because it doesn’t feel dry, sets my makeup, and even adds a tiny bit of coverage, nothing crazy but definitely makes the skin look smoother. I don’t remember which was the last high end powder that I used but I don’t even bother in finding an expensive alternative when this one works perfectly for what I need it.
Para every day me refiero a cuando me maquillo, obvio. Aunque sea solo un poco en el centro de la cara me tengo que aplicar un poco de polvo para sellar lo que sea que hay debajo. El Polvo True Match de L’Oréal es mi favorito porque no se siente seco, sella mi maquillaje e incluso le da un poco más de cobertura, nada intenso pero definitivamente hace que la piel luzca más suave. No recuerdo cuál fue el último polvo de gama alta que usé pero ni si quiera me molesto en encontrar una alterativa costosa cuando este funciona perfectamente para lo que lo necesito.
The best brow gel at the lowest price
Definitely my most used makeup product from the drugstore is the Essence Make Me Brow Gel. At first I thought this product would be a dupe for my beloved Benefit Gimme Brow (especially because the name and packaging resemble a lot the old version). The more I used it I found out it seemed more like a dupe for the Glossier Boy Brow, which was still good! This product fills my brows naturally and gives them a bit more volume, perfect for something like an every day brow when you want to look more pulled together and not too overdone.
Definitivamente mi producto de makeup más usado del supermercado es el Make Me Brow Gel de Essence. Al principio pensé que este producto sería un duplicado de mi adorado Gimme Brow de benefit (en especial porque el nombre y empaque se parecen mucho al anterior). Entre más lo usaba descubrí que se parece más al Boy Brow de Glossier, lo cual también es bueno! Este producto rellena mis cejas de manera natural y les da un poco más de volumen, perfecto para una ceja de diario cuando quieres verte más repuesta pero no tan arreglada.
The blackest kohl liner in the market
A total winner in my eyeliner department. It seems a little hard to find a good black kohl pencil that doesn’t smudge and has a true black pigment to it. Bissú is a Mexican brand and the best part is that it has super affordable prices. The Tintaline eyeliner has a creamy formula and a super pigmented color payoff that sets after a few seconds. I wear it on my waterline and it lasts all night without transferring to my bottom eye area. I actually consider this product to be an exact dupe of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils.
Un completo ganador en mi departamento de delineadores. Parece que es un poco difícil encontrar un lápiz de ojos que no se corra y con un pigmento realmente negro en él. Bissú es una Marca mexicana y la mejor parte es que sus precios son súper accesibles. El delineador Tintaline tiene una fórmula cremosa y súper pigmentada con color intenso que se fija después de unos segundos. Yo lo uso en el interior de los ojos y dura toda la noche sin transferirse a la parte de abajo. De hecho, considero que este producto es un duplicado exacto de los Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils.
