Summer days are the chance to wear the boldest and brightest lip colors. In some places of the world this season is coming to an end soon, but at least where I live we still have a few more weeks left—perfect excuse to try a colorful look on the weekend.

OMBRÉ LIPS
Completely inspired by Korean Beauty, this trend is what you can wear if you're aiming for a younger and fresher appearance. The way that I like to wear this is with matching colored cheeks and an almost bare face. Skip all that contour and heavy base, let your skin shine and bring all the attention to the eyes. For this look I used the Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Orange Sacré on the inner corners and blended it out towards the outside with Benefit Cha Cha Balm.
Completamente inspirado por la Belleza Coreana, esta tendencia es lo que puedes usar si apuntas a verte más fresca y joven. La forma en que a mí me gusta usarlo es con un rubor de un tono similar y una piel casi desnuda. Sáltate todo ese contour y base pesada, deja que tu piel brille y lleva toda la atención a los labios. Para este look usé Le Lip Liner en Orange Sacré de Lancôme en las orillas internas y lo difuminé hacia afuera con Cha Cha Balm de Benefit.
COLOR BLOCK
When I first saw the Matte Shakers Ad I fell hard for the two colored lips in similar tones. For this look I actually used the Lancôme Matte Shakers in Kiss Me Chérie and Yummy Pink, top and bottom respectively. I think a graphic look like this would look perfect with a winged liner and defined brows, just to keep everything somehow "flat". The idea is to play with colors, not dimensions.
Cuando vi la campaña de los Matte Shakers me enamoré de inmediato de los labios con dos colores en tonos similares. De hecho usé los Matte Shakers de Lancôme en Kiss Me Chérie y Yummy Pink para este look, arriba y abajo respectivamente. Pienso que un look tan gráfico se vería bien con un delineador fuerte y cejas bien definidas, solo para mantener todo en un sentido "plano". La idea es jugar con colores, no dimensiones.
METALLIC LIPS
Going back to the 90s (or early 00s), metallic lips made a comeback this year and we're loving it. All that shine from this Jouer Long-Wear Lip Cream in Rose Gold makes it perfect for you to bust out your favorite matte eyeshadows. This look is all about dimension, complete opposite to the previous one, so I added a strong contour to shape my complexion without taking attention from the lips.
Volviendo a los 90s (o principios de los 00s), los labios metálicos volvieron este año y los amamos. Todo ese brillo en el Long-Wear Lip Cream de Jouer en Rose Gold hace que sea perfecto sacar a relucir las sombras matte que más te gusten. Este look se trata mucho de dimensión, totalmente opuesto al anterior, así que agregué un esculpido fuerte para darle forma a mi complexión sin quitarle atención a los labios.
CLEAR GLOSS
About a year ago I absolutely hated gloss because it reminded me of my much younger years when I first started wearing makeup. Clear gloss somehow became a huge thing even on lids, highlight, and much more on editorial looks. For us mortals, it's easier to wear it on our naked lips. I paired up this one from Palladio with a dramatic smokey eye. You don't have to worry about which lipstick will match because it's basically a tubed, juicy version of your natural feature.
Hace un año odiaba inmensamente el gloss porque me recordaba a mis años más jóvenes donde apenas empezaba a maquillarme. El gloss transparente de alguna manera se convirtió en algo que va en los párpados, de iluminador y muchas cosas más en looks editoriales. Para nosotros los mortales es mucho más fácil llevarlo en labios desnudos. Acompañé este de Palladio con un smokey eye súper dramático. No te tienes que preocupar de qué labial te pondrás para que combine porque es básicamente una versión jugosa en tubo de tu facción natural.
DUOCHROME LIPS
Speaking of editorial looks, I used this Urban Decay VICE Special Effects Lip Topcoat in Reverb on a few looks in my last post where I review three of them. It's quite a statement when paired with a base color, here I used MAC Diva. I didn't want to do anything else on my face than a soft contour to compliment the lips dimension and enhance natural features like brows and lashes, nothing else. This is the perfect look if you're rushing to a party.

Es toda una impresión cuando lo acompañas de un color base, aquí usé MAC Diva. No quería agregar nada a mi rostro más que un esculpido suave para complementar la dimensión de los labios y mejorar algunas facciones naturales como las cejas y pestañas Este es el look perfecto si vas de prisa a una fiesta.
